Schnackel Engineers began their relationship with Panera Bread in 2012 and started designing several projects that consisted of inline restaurants, catering hub additions in existing locations and minor remodels as well. After successfully completing these smaller projects, Schnackel Engineers was selected as the MEP consultant for the Panera Bread in Kirkwood, MO. This St. Louis Bread Co. location was Schnackel Engineers' first ground up which consists of approximately 4,500 square feet of new construction. Schnackel's expertise in restaurant design and collaborative insight helped to streamline the design.


The success of this project was due to the team's constant communication and coordination efforts with the architect, owner and the city's civil engineers from inception to completion. The team heavily coordinated with the civil engineers and utility departments to provide utility service to the space on time and worked meticulously with the architect to make sure that the drawings they submitted were accurate and in line with Panera's expectations.
