South Street Seaport Pier 17

New York, NY

Schnackel Engineers was chosen as the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering consultant for the South Street Seaport project, which involves the redevelopment of the South Street Seaport Pier 17 building just south of the Brooklyn Bridge in Lower Manhattan, NY. The project consists of approximately 300,000 square feet of new and re-developed, mixed-use space.

The transformed Seaport District encompasses seven buildings on several city blocks filled with cutting-edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings. The new Pier 17 building features a glass façade that allows visitors to appreciate the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the skylines of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The project also features an open-air rooftop garden and is targeting LEED Silver Certification.
