Omaha, NE – January 29, 2007 - Dale Schnackel Company, a nationally recognized mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and data communications engineering firm based in Omaha, has officially announced today that it has changed its name to Schnackel Engineers, Inc. The strategy behind the name change is to further leverage the equity in the Schnackel name that the company has enjoyed since 1968, when the company was founded.

Greg Schnackel, President and CEO, commented, “Our continued success and growth since the company’s inception has dictated that we change our name to more accurately reflect our current operations along with that. Our momentum continues to build with a relatively strong economy, and, at present, we do not see a slow-down in any building sector in which we are involved, anytime in the near future.”

The company has recently opened offices in Pasadena, CA and New York City. The offices are seen, not as satellite locations, but rather “an extension of services strategically located for the convenience of our clients.”

He continued that, “Our new name reflects the fact that it is our engineers that make our company successful, and our new logo builds upon the strong brand awareness that the company has built through attention to detail, relationship building and providing services in a way that most firms of our size aren’t able to. We continue to look at more sophisticated ways of providing the best customer service while maintaining a midwestern work ethic and fee structure.”

Donald Wilson, Director of Business Development noted that Schnackel Engineers is “well suited to continue in it’s position as a leading provider of MEP engineering to a broad sector of industries, while solidifying its expertise in the ever changing retail and mixed use marketplace.”

This fabulous mixed-use facility opened on August 4, 2004. The project is the flagship in the General Growth portfolio and represents a new level of shopping, dining, entertainment and accommodations. The Town Center incorporates not only traditional retail requirements, but also mixed-use entertainment venues including an amphitheater, water recreation, theater, play area and childcare center. This master planned development highlights three distinct “districts”: The “Shopping District” includes a two level enclosed shopping center featuring water falls, a food court, lifestyle retailers, cinema and a streetscape exterior design. The “Lake District” includes a 3.5-acre lake surrounded by bike trails, pedestrian walkways, a boardwalk with a wide variety of waterfront dining, a hotel, amphitheater and boating docks. The “Village” is an outdoor lifestyle center hosting a collection of specialty retailers in an open-air design. Schnackel was involved in the design of the entire center including all districts, interior and exterior. A major design innovation incorporated into this facility for the first time was a completely electronic and reconfigurable metering and control system that eliminated the expense of traditional metering, distribution and control systems, for considerable cost savings, space savings and long term flexibility. Schnackel Engineers is proud to have been the MEP/FP Engineering firm on the design team for Jordan Creek Towne Center, which was recently awarded the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) International Design & Development Award for New Projects over 500,000 square feet at the ICSC CenterBuild Conference held in Phoenix, AZ.
